Bury Your Brother

Cherry Hill NJ Groove metal

From the depths a hell a band emerged that was so sinister and evil that the faint of heart clutched their sheets at night, unable to sleep because of the fear coursing through them. A band that sent shivers down spines and turned even the most mild mannered of us into headbanging moshers. That band was Bury Your Brother.

Bury Your Brother is a modern take on classic heavy. Their raw thrashy sound is an evolution of iconic metal bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Alice In Chains. Characterized by fast paced guitars and groovy drums under throat shredding vocals, the band brings your darkest nightmares to life for everyone to hear.

Formed in 2014 by guitarist Chris Quinonez and drummer Zach Kelly, they were quickly joined by Corey Siegel and Dave O’Neal on guitar and bass respectively while splitting vocal duty. The band started playing gigs in the trisate area to begin growing their audience and soon after they were joined by Jon Keller who took over on bass while Dave moved to guitar so Corey could focus solely on vocals. Eventually Dave moved across the country and Corey picked the guitar back up. Under this lineup Bury Your Brother released their debut EP “Something Wicked” and played their biggest gigs opening up for alternative metal band Trapt and playing the Electric Halloween festival in 2021. In an unexpected turn of events Corey decided to leave Bury Your Brother to focus on his band The Looms and Dave who had returned to New Jersey took over on vocals.

In 2022 Chris left the band and was replaced by Cefarino Jackson and Philip Kelly. Corey returned to help finish the recording of their final project “Empty Room” and play their final show at the Elephant Talk Indie Music Festival. Afterwards the remaining members decided to take an indefinite hiatus to focus on their new band Smith’s Grove.

If you’re looking for something heavy but groovy, something thrashy but melodic, or something classic but modern then Bury Your Brother is for you. Their music is available on all streaming platforms. Get in touch with your dark side and listen now.

Philip Kelly

Cherry Hill NJ classic rock

Have you wanted to go back to the summer of ‘69? A time when the air was cleaner, the people were friendlier, and the music was better? You might not be able to travel back in time in body, but Philip Kelly will make you feel like you have in spirit.

Philip has been playing guitar and writing songs for almost sixty years. Joined by his son on drums (also a Philip Kelly!), as well as a revolving cast of friends, this timeless Cherry Hill NJ duo brings blues and folk inspired classic rock of the 60s into the modern day. Channeling influence from iconic acts like The Allman Brothers Band, and Creedence Clearwater Revival, Phil’s songs will transport you back to Woodstock and have you spreading peace, love, and music to the world.

After decades of playing in bands like Stranded, The Rents, and The Rainmakers, Phil is now making waves as a solo artist supported by some of the best musicians in New Jersey. He’s out to show how the summer of love never truly ended. It’s not about a time period - it’s about a mindset.

Philip’s debut single, “My Time With You”, is a song about taking time to share experiences and make memories with the people you love. Joined by Alyssa Campagna (vocals, flute) and Mike Huff (keyboard), the group paints a bittersweet picture of nostalgia and cherishing the time we get with one another. It’s currently available on all streaming platforms. Look out for more new music in the near future.

The 60s may be over, but with the press of a button they can live on. Turn up the music and let the nostalgia live on.

SAPPED

Williamstown NJ punk

Are you bored of hearing the same rinse and repeat songs in your Spotify algorithm? Are you looking for a fresh modern take on rock and punk music that still pays proper respect to the innovators of the past? If so then check out the wonder kids of SAPPED!

The Williamstown, NJ quartet delivers their raw, unfiltered, “I don’t give a fuck” attitude through a mix of raucous riffs and catchy hooks that make you want to get up, flip a table and dance until your kneecaps explode. There’s no bedtimes here, only good times! So let’s party til we’re purple and open up this pit!

Formed in 2021 by Gabe Celeste and Jason Puglise, the young lads started writing songs at just 14 years old with Jason forming no-nonsense bass groves and Gabe handling the rest. Soon after, they were joined by lead guitarist extraordinaire “Downtown” Timmy Brown and began heavily gigging throughout the South Jersey area. In 2024, Jason parted ways with the band and Mason Landolt stepped in to take up the mantle of bass.

The band recently released their debut EP Brog Left the Bog. It's a whirlwind rollercoaster of sounds and aesthetics. Moving from power pop/garage rock with "Bean Salad" into punk aesthetics with "Setback" and "Waste of Time" and finally twisting into southern fried stoner rock with the title track. The record was recorded, mixed, and mastered with Fever Dream Entertainment and features some guest appearances from Zach Kelly, and Jimmy Butler of Smith's Grove.

If you’re not tired of the same dancehall and pop tunes of the Spotify algorithm yet then SAPPED isn’t for you. But if you don’t give a fuck and you’re looking for fresh updated takes on alt rock, grunge, and punk then check them out. SAPPED make music for themselves, music with balls. If you like that, then great. If not, they simply don’t give a shit.

Smith's Grove

Cherry Hill NJ Metal

Living is tough. Whether it’s because of the state of the world or the state of one’s own mental health getting through the day can be a trial of strength. Smith’s Grove is a place where you can go to feel less alone. It’s a movement saying we feel the same way but we can find hope in each other not only to get through that shitty day but maybe make a change in the world for the better. Smith’s Grove is four people writing songs to show you that together we can feel better.

If you’re looking for high octane distorted guitar riffs, heavy bass, and catchy double kick drum beats search no further. If you’re looking for lyrics that make you feel like somebody else understands the bleak thoughts that go through your head search no further. If you love bands like Killswitch Engage, Slipknot, and System of a Down you’ve found a home full of people that get you.

Smith’s Grove formed in 2022 after guitarist Jimmy Butler joined up with the remaining members of Bury Your Brother (Dave O’Neal, Jon Keller, and Zach Kelly) to form a new project. Shifting away from BYB’s thrashy post-grunge sound to a blend of 2000s nu-metal and modern hardcore, the band locked themselves up in their rehearsal space in Cherry Hill, NJ to write a crop of songs that any veteran metalhead can find something to sink their teeth into while still being accessible enough to welcome newcomers to the genre with open arms.

The band just released their debut self-titled album. It's an eight song epic that touches on many different topics such as mental health, inner strength, consumerism, and group think. The themes of the record are soundtracked with a vide variety of different vibes from metal community that are seamlessly woven into a sound that's both new and familiar. The band plans on continuing to push forward with more shows, videos and singles in the future.

Smith's Grove is on track to becoming a rising star in the ranks of the metal community's up and coming bands as growing excitement builds around the powerful movement the band is building. Breathe deep and do what you have to do to get through that shitty day. We’re here with you so stick around. You have to survive you have to become strong.
